What Four Days of Intensive Training Taught Me About Chi Nei Tsang

I just completed my four-day intensive Chi Nei Tsang workshop. After two years and 70 case studies, I finally had my practical assessment. I am now a certified Chi Nei Tsang practitioner.

But honestly? The more I learn, the more I realise how much I still don't know.

Four Very Full Days

We went deep. Diaphragm, liver, intestines — organ by organ. And I have to be honest: sometimes I genuinely couldn't tell what I was touching. Was that the diaphragm? The liver? I wasn't always sure.

A year ago that would have embarrassed me. Now it feels okay. It means I'm actually learning.

The feeling during these four days was always two things at once — this is really hard, and this is really interesting. Sometimes in the same moment.

Chi Nei Tsang is not something you just learn and then do. Every session is different. You have to ground yourself first, slow down, and actually listen to what the body is telling you. I feel like I'm only just starting to understand what that means.

The Honest Part — It's Not Always Comfortable

We practised on each other during the workshop. I have a sensitive body, so I felt everything quite strongly. Some of the abdominal work was uncomfortable. Strange sensations. And the next day I had that deep soreness — like something had been released.

But the morning after? I felt genuinely lighter. Not just relaxed — actually lighter, inside. My mind was clearer too. I've never felt that from any other treatment.

That's the thing about Chi Nei Tsang abdominal massage. It's not always easy. But what it gives back is something different.

Why Are There So Few Chi Nei Tsang Practitioners in the UK?

Honestly, I think about this a lot. In London — and the UK generally — there are very few of us. I heard that In Paris it's much more common. Here, most people have never even heard of it.

The training takes time. Two years, 70 case studies, a proper assessment. It's not a weekend course. And then once you qualify, you need regular clients to keep improving. No clients, no practice. No practice, no skill. It's a real challenge. and there are even Chi Nei Tsang level 2 to 5!

What I'm Offering Now

From now on, I'm adding Chi Nei Tsang as a separate treatment at my Wimbledon practice — alongside my abdominal massage sessions.

It's deeper. More focused on the organs. Not just relaxation, but real internal work — supporting digestion, releasing emotional tension stored in the belly, helping the body detox from the inside.

It won't always feel comfortable. But if your gut has been struggling, I really think you should try Chi Nei Tsang at least once.

Still Learning

Getting certified doesn't mean I've arrived anywhere. It just means I can go deeper now.

I want to build a real Chi Nei Tsang practice in London — with clients who are genuinely curious about this work. I'll keep practising, keep studying, keep listening with my hands.

If you're in Wimbledon or nearby, and something here feels right — I'd love to work with you.
